The Divine and The Demonic

[Mona Tavon]

Mona being half goddess, doesn't get along very well with the demon Köka. When he comes up from hell to make a mess on earth he likes to pick specifically on the Champions, Mona is usually the one to step up and give him a firm talking and send him on his way but this time he was persistent and didn't seem to want to leave...


Mona was sitting around her house doing her normal thing and reading a book, the others were out at their jobs and doing their own thing that day so she had the place to herself and Soul; her miniature bonsai Ent. This time she picked up the bible to read, even though she didn't specifically believe in this religious story it was still interesting to read and to see how the humans interpreted the angels and gods she once knew. Mona stretched out and allowed the roots and vines on her ankles to curl around themselves. she got up and walked over to the back door that lead out into the garden where she sat down by the creek and dipped her feet in and let her roots slither their way through the rocks to find the water. she turned her head up to the sun and breathed in the nice clean air around her, as she exhaled she opened her eyes and looked into the forest where she caught a slight glimpse of a purplish figure...

Köka was particularly on top of his game today! Jumping through a forest, he glanced his hands across the branches and foliage he passed by. This sparked small fires with his hot rough hands, fresh from his hellfire home. He knew they were easily put out, but just enough of a nuisance to get the attention of some heroes he liked playing around with.

"Mooooooonaaaaaaa~!" the little demon called, giggling in a high-pitch and mocking tone. "Oh Moany MOOOOOOOONAAAAAAA~!"

As the figure came closer she started to make out who it was, Köka the little demon boy who liked to start trouble to inconvenience the champions. She stood up quickly ripping the roots out of the rocks causing herself slight pain, then watched them roll back around her ankles. she dropped her pants to cover up her roots and stood up straight with her arms crossed hoping her current stance will show the child demon that she is ready for his drama this time around.
"Good afternoon hell child, come to start more trouble for us? I'm sorry but you only get me today, everyone else is out." she watched as fire flickered around him and she dropped her stance to step back a short distance. she didn't fear many things but fire was a natural fear that came to her as she took on many characteristics of a tree herself.
This time she was more stern and upfront "What do you want Köka?"

[Shoolie]

The purple teen stopped his bounding advance, landing just outside of the treeline of the forest.

"Only you?" Köka frowned, fidgeting between his clawed feet, ready to spring forth again. "Well, that's fine! You're just as fun as anyone anyway!" He sprung from his spot, taking a great leap and landing behind Mona. He tapped her shoulder with a "boo" and jumped again onto the roof of their house.

Mona stumbled back and fell over into the small stream before she could do anything about it.

"You little uncivilized brat!" she shouted as she wiped herself down. She was in her normal clothes instead of her combat suit so it was very hard for her to move around gracefully without having the vines on her body to guide her and the seed on her pouches to help keep her mobile. She shook her head and rung out her hair pulling it back and holding it in a pony tail, the young vine on the back of her neck wrapped itself around her hair and pulled it tight out of the way.

"I don't wish to play your silly childish games, I have more important things to do." she said stepping forward towards the house while shaking her finger at the roof where she knew the demon child was sitting. She thought she would have the day to herself, that she would have some quiet time to recharge and replenish her sickly body. Its only her luck that Köka would show up today.

[Shoolie]

Köka poked his head over the roof, swishing his pointed tail back and forth, confused. Normally when he bugged the members of this group, they provided a lot of entertainment, chasing after him, screaming obscene terms, and picking up the things he would knock over or smash to bits. But today, the leader of their group just looked annoyed, and that was pretty much it.

The demon stuck his tongue out at her. "BLEHH. Important things? How borrring. Dad said he had big stuff to do today too. He keeps talking about you guys and the city y'know. ADULT stuff." He rolled around on the roof, scraping a few of the shingles off, with an attitude that nothing in the world could entertain him. Completely missing the fact that that information might be pretty important to Mother Nature.

[Mona Tavon]

Mona ran over to the tree closest to her and climbed up and gracefully walked along the branch that was the longest and jumped onto the roof with hers knees slightly bent to cushion her landing.

"what about your father?" she asked as she walked closer to the demon child, her stance strong and threatening. If this demon was planning something against the Champions and the city she needed to find out then put a stop to it as soon as possible.

Köka blinked, shuffling back a bit in surprise, shocked that she got up to his spot so quickly. Also, the look on her face has changed to be quite intimidating.

He pouted and rolled over onto his stomach so he didn't have to look at her anymore, and continued picking shingles off. "What about him? He's been really grumpy these days. Probably wants to start a fight real bad. I can't blame him, it's booooring down there. But Satan almost never sends him on a direct mission like this..."

[Mona Tavon]

"Satan! your telling me Satan is sending your father on a mission to start a fight with US?!" She shouted. she grabbed his tail that was flicking back and forth as he picked the shingles off the roof- "And stop destroying our house!" she said as she yanked his tail. she dropped the tail upset with what she just did, she knew how much that would have hurt since she has had people do it to her vines several times and Starlie had often complained about people yanking on her tail. She didn't let it show that she was sorry though as he needed to get to the point of why he came into the top world this time.

[Shoolie]

"YOW!" Köka yipped as his tail had been painfully yanked on. He turned around and pouted again. "You're being really rude today, you know that?!"

Rubbing his backside, the purple demon mumbled "I dunno... dad doesn't really tell me his plans. Everything he talks about with Satan is a big secret that he doesn't think I'm old enough to know. He wants me to stop talking to you guys at all, so I don't care what he thinks!"

[Mona Tavon]

She took a moment to think about her earlier action of violence towards the young boy. she ran her hand through her hair and let it down once again, obviously Köka didn't come here for a fight this time. She adjusted her clothing and sat down in front of him, the roof was hot from the sun beating down on it on this nice late spring day.

"Why do you even bother talking to us? Why do you bother coming up here at all?" she started to get more relaxed, she softened her words and dropped her shoulders to sit more comfortably.

[Shoolie]

Köka brought his knees to his chest and looked up at Mona now. "Because... well, because you guys are fun! I can do what I want up here. Even though we fight and you stop my games a lot, it's still better than down there. And when I do something dad doesn't like, it's really scary..." the little demon's eyes clouded, still looking at Mona but not really seeing her anymore. "He says if I'm going to bother with you guys at all, I should just burn you all to ASHES."

Mona felt bad; she never put much thought into what the little demons life was like down there. Maybe they had been too hard on him? He was a kid after all; he just needed someone to play with. She reached her arm out to comfort him with a light touch, but when she touched his skin she immediately pulled back from the hot flesh.

"Uhm, well let’s not do anything rash especially if it involves fire." Mona said with a slight giggle trying to lighten the mood. "You should have just told us you wanted to play or just hang out, it would have been a lot more effective than playing tricks with us and making us angry." she said matter of factually. She stood up and walked over to the edge of the roof where she let her vines hold onto the roof as she jumped over and slowly descended.

"Come down we can chat down here." she shouted up at the roof, shielding her eyes from the sun.

[Shoolie]

Blinking back to the present, Köka sprung up on his feet to follow. Jumping straight down to the ground, he continued to bounce up and down around Mona before she got the chance to land herself.

"Aww, but fire's not so bad! There's lots of it in hell! It comes in red, orange, blue, green..." the now excited demon, completely recovered, started rambling the poor plant girl's ear off. "Oh! Speaking of cool fires, the one over there got bigger!" He pointed eagerly back at the trees he had come from, where the little fires he had sparked indeed spread.

[Mona Tavon]

"Oh no." she whispered to herself, she knew this one wasn't going to end well. "Köka, this isn't a good thing! If one of those sparks fly onto the roof the house might just burn down!" She was starting to panic, pacing back and forth. "I cant do anything about this, I can't do anything when it comes to fire! I am too weak!" she heard the crackling of the wood, she sank down to her knees. "Wait! Carmen can help! she is good with this stuff." she rolled over onto her hands and knees and pushed herself up to her feet and she sprinted into the house to grab her cellphone. When she finished her panicky call with her fellow champion she walked back out of the house to Köka who was still standing there innocently. Mona wanted to scream at him but she knew it wouldn't get through the demons head, it never had before.
